INDUSTRY TALKS

This section of the festival is dedicated to conversations that challenge, inspire and offer new perspectives, bringing audiences closer to some of the most influential voices in film and television.
‍
This year’s focus turns to marketing and positioning: how films and series build an identity, find their audience and stand out in an increasingly crowded landscape. The programme also introduces Series in Focus, a full day exploring television, drama and streaming.

EYE EYE DEEP DIVE

Since Norwegian producers Dyveke Bjørkly Graver and Andrea Berentsen Ottmar founded Eye Eye Pictures in 2022, the production company has crafted an impressive track record of tonally precise films that have gained international acclaim.

Before launching the company, they were both producers on Joachim Trier´s The Worst Person in the World. Their work since includes Kristoffer Borgli´s Sick of Myself, Caméra d´Or winner Armand and Joachim Trier´s Sentimental Value, which won the Grand Prix in Cannes and the Academy Award for Best International Feature. The 2026 release slate of Eye Eye Pictures includes co-production Fjord by Cristian Mungiu, awarded Palme d´Or in Cannes, and A Prayer for the Dying by Dara Van Dusen. Scheduled for 2027 release is co-production The Entertainment System is Down by Ruben Östlund.

Now Graver and Ottmar are coming to Stockholm Industry Days to share their story on the making of Eye Eye Pictures. A director-driven production company based in the Nordics, making films for the international audience.

WRITERS ROUNDTABLE

Scriptwriting is arguably the heart and soul of any creative project, whether its  film or series.

We are therefore honored to welcome the minds behind some of the most memorable stories to our Writers Roundtable. The session brings together screenwriters Amy Deasismont (Summer of 1985), Cilla Jackert (Thin Blue Line) and Alex Haridi (S.P.U.N.G).

We want to open up for a discussion on the art and challanges of scriptwriting and hear them share the do's and don'ts they've picked up along the way.

Part of our Series in Focus Day.

VISIONS IN SWEDISH CINEMA 2030

In 2020, we asked: where will Swedish cinema be in ten years?

Six years on, the industry is still navigating its way through public funding failing to keep up with inflation, fewer films receiving substantial production support and local cinemas  still struggling to stay open.

Continuing its tradition of opening Stockholm Industry Days,  we check in with prominent Swedish industry professionals. Visions in Swedish Cinema 2030 returns to ask: with four years left to 2030, how is Swedish cinema actually doing?

We are honoured to have Anna Croneman (CEO of the Swedish Film Institute), Jon Asp (director and film critic), Manolo Diaz Rämö (filmmaker and Co-Chair of Oberoende Filmares Förbund, OFF) and Siri Hjorton Wagner (producer and founder of [sic] film), joining us at Bio Skandia on November 16 to discuss the future of Swedish filmmaking.

Moderated by Hynek Pallas, culture journalist with a PhD in Cinema Studies.

Please note that this session will be held in Swedish.

Date: Monday November 16, 09:30-11.00

IN BETWEEN ROCK AND ROLL, UNDERGROUND STORIES BY PEP BONET

For our emerging filmmakers we are very happy to announce a Nikon workshop led by documentary filmmaker and photographer Pep Bonet.

His longer-term projects focus on African issues, with his most well-known project being “Faith in Chaos”, a photo essay on the aftermath of the war in Sierra Leone. He is also known for a long-term reportage on the rock ‘n roll band Motörhead. Pep spent many years (2008-2015) on the road with Lemmy Kilmister, the legendary singer of the band, and created an exceptional visual document of the many hours spent on the road with Motörhead.

Now, he brings his experience behind the lens to Stockholm Industry Days. Meet Pep for a presentation of his underground stories with photographs and films, stories of music, hope and pain.
